Description
|
General Contractor, GC |
The individual or company having overarching responsibility for a construction project. |
Gross Margin or Markup |
As opposed to Straight Margin or Markups, the Gross markup method takes bid cost and divides that bid cost by the remainder of 1 minus the markup percentage. |
Image |
Plan, Image, Drawing, Sheet - the visual representation of an architectural drawing on-screen for the purpose of viewing or measuring. |
Image Legend, Legend |
A list of all the Conditions used on a Page/Sheet and the quantities for that sheet. Provided as a reference for printed copies of the Plan/Sheet. |
Indirect Expense |
Additional (markup) costs associated with Material and Labor such as Stocking, Cleaning, Per Diem, or Supervision that are proportionate to the hard costs. |
Labor Cost Code |
An alpha-numeric code used to rollup like labor within a Bid, typically aligned with an Organization's Accounting system. |
Layer, Layers |
Everything in the Image or Takeoff window is stored on a layer. Layers are analogous to transparency sheets and allow a user to show/hide various objects to make the screen look less cluttered. For example, all your takeoff objects for Walls could be on a Layer and then your Floors could be on a different layer - you could show/hide whatever you need to see at the current time. |
Markups |
Additional costs added to Material and Labor expenses such as Tax and Burden. Also, Indirect Expenses such as Stocking, Cleaning, Per Diem, and Supervision can be called Markups. Quick Bid calls expenses not associated with Materials or Labor "Additional Markups". |
Material Cost Code |
An alpha-numeric code used to rollup like materials within a Bid, typically aligned with an Organization's Accounting system. |
Multi-Condition Takeoff |
A patented method of grabbing multiple Conditions and then drawing once on the plan and the program finishes the takeoff for all selected Conditions automatically. |
