The Master menu allows you to access and configure tables that are stored on the database. Anything modified at the master / database level will affect all future bids. Master list dialogs are labeled (Master) in the title bar to indicate that you are accessing database-level information. It is important to pay close attention to any modifications you make in these dialogs.
Changing an existing record at the Master level will affect future jobs, but will not affect a job previously entered. You may delete an existing record from the Master Items List even if that record has been used in a job. However, you cannot delete a record if it is currently in use in an assembly or if it is used as part of a chain or mixture. You cannot delete and estimator that is used in any bid in the database or is the owner of any assembly.
Tables can be activated and modified by clicking the Lookup button . This allows you to build your database "On-The-Fly" - as you use it you can add things to the Master tables.
Different Master Tables are inter-dependent. For example, to build an Item, you'll need to have Payroll Classes and Labor Codes, Item Types and possibly Manufacturers and other tables built. To create a Condition Assembly, you'll have to have Items built. It's important that you review this entire section so you understand the various Master Tables before attempting to use the application.
