On Center Software uses technology provided by the FLEXnet License Administrator (LMAdmin) service to manage licenses for the applications. Other software vendors may also use the same FLEXnet technology. If LMAdmin v 11.13 or newer is already installed on the server, you can skip to Installing the ELM Activation Utility, but you must Stop the LMAdmin service before activating your first license code.
Enterprise License Manager v.1.2 works with version 11.13.1.3 and newer of the LMAdmin provided by FlexNet but cannot be installed on the same server as license managers using older versions of Flexera's licence manager (lmgrd) or older version of LMAdmin (v.11.13.1.2 or lower).
If a supported version of LMAdmin (v.11.13.1.3 or higher) is already installed and running on this server, the service must be stopped to complete an upgrade of the LMAdmin files. Stopping the LMAdmin service may cause licensing disruption for any application utilizing the service. On Center Software therefore suggests that any maintenance/installation be performed during non-business or off-hours to minimize any inconvenience to your end-users.
Installing FLEXnet LMAdmin
Locate the downloaded file "lmadmin-i86_n3-11_13_1_3.exe" (compatible with x86 and x64 bit operating systems)
Double-click on the installation file, Windows User Account Control may prompt you to allow the installation, click YES
The installer uncompresses the files
Next, the Introduction screen displays
Click Next
Choose the install folder, the default is:
"C:\Program Files\FLEXnet Publisher License Server Manager\" if the server is running a 32 bit operating system
"C:\Program Files (x86)\FLEXnet Publisher License Server Manager\" if the server is running a 64 bit operating system
If you change the path where LMAdmin is installed, be sure to note this location as you will need to enter the folder path when installing Enterprise License Manager Activation Utility. We recommend leaving the install folder as the default.
Click Next to continue, if you receive the error message below, you already have LMAdmin installed.
If the version installed is 11.13.1.3 or higher, you can skip to Installing the Activation Utility (see Related articles). If the installed version is lower than 11.13.1.3, you can upgrade, but you need to verify that any other license managers are compatible with the newer version of LMAdmin. You will need to contact the vendors of any other license servers directly. You can also choose to cancel the installation and install ELM on another server. Only one instance/version of LMADMIN service may be installed on a server.
We recommend you choose not to import import any settings on the this screen unless you are upgrading LMAdmin and all installed license managers are compatible with v.11.13.1.3 or higher.

On the Pre-Installation Summary, review the settings and click Install, a progress screen displays
Check the "Install Visual C++ Redistributable" box - if the component is already installed, you can cancel the installation for Visual C++ Redistributable after it starts. When the VC++ Redistributable installation is complete, the Flexera installer will pick up where it left off.
Installing the Visual C++ Redistributable
Click Next in the Welcome screen.
Review and accept the End User License Agreement, click Next continue.
The Redistributable installs quite quickly on most machines.
Click Finish in the Setup Complete screen and the Flexera LMAdmin installer will resume.
Resuming Flexera LMAdmin Configuration
Accept the defaults for Launch Configuration unless you want to change the Port or other settings for the LMAdmin Service.
Changing the HTTP Port Number requires you (the person managing this License Manager) to swap out "8090" with whatever port number you choose when you open the LMAdmin web page. Changing the License Server Port Number requires your end users to enter that information in their application when they request a license from this license manager. We recommend leaving the defaults unless you must change them due to network restrictions or company security policy.
Click Next to continue
On the Service Configuration, check the box that reads, "Run as a service" so the LMAdmin service is created and configured properly.
If you do not check "Run as a service" during installation, the license manager will not start automatically when the server is restarted/rebooted (see related articles for how to fix this). On some machines, even if you check "Run as a Service", the service will not be installed properly - just follow the instructions in the Related article to correct this.

The LMAdmin service is configured by the activation utility (ELM) the first time you use the Activation Utility to activate license codes. The LMAdmin service must not be running the first time the activation utility is used. So, if you reboot/restart your server before you complete the next part of the ELM installation, be sure that the LMAdmin Service is stopped before you install the ELM Activation Utility and run it for the first time.
Click Done to complete the install process
Next you will install On Center's activation utility and the vendor daemon (both installed when you run the "Enterprise License Manager" installer).
