Typical Takeoff

There three types of Typical Takeoff:

When creating a bid, you will choose between using Typical Areas and Typical Groups/Pages. You cannot use Typical Areas and Typical Groups/Pages in the same bid.

Typical Areas are takeoff objects that repeat multiple times within several bid areas. There is no takeoff actually associated with the Typical Areas except for where the Typical Area is defined. All calculations are done behind the scenes and the totals are displayed on the Takeoff tab and/or Worksheet tab. Typical Areas are great for bids where you don't need to see actual takeoff, you just need takeoff multiplied and broken out by area.

Additional Information: See Typical Areas for more information.

Typical Groups are similar to Typical Areas - they are takeoff objects that are used multiple times throughout a project. The difference is that takeoff inside a Typical Group Frame is no longer included with your totals. When used in a bid, a Typical Group Marker can actually display takeoff that is visible on the Image tab. Typical Groups are created in the same way as Conditions and are also listed in the Conditions List.

Additional Information: See Typical Groups for more information.

Typical Pages create Virtual Pages, exact duplicates of their Typical Page. When using a Typical Page, the Virtual Pages are not visible in On-Screen Takeoff, they merely multiply the takeoff on the Typical Page so that you can break down takeoff by area on the Takeoff and Worksheet tabs.

Additional Information: See Typical Pages for more information.
