Typical Groups
Typical Groups allow you to quickly and efficiently add repeating areas of takeoff into your bid.
Creating a Typical Group
Typical Groups are located at the top of the Conditions list in the Conditions window. Creating a Typical Group is similar to creating a regular Condition - the dialog box is very similar. There are several methods to add a new Typical Group to your Conditions list:
-
Click the Typical Groups header once to select it and then click located at the bottom of the Conditions window - the Typical Group Properties dialog appears
-
Double-click the Typical Group header
-
Right-click anywhere in the Conditions window and select New > Typical Groups from the context menu
NOTE: You can also add a Typical Group from the standard Condition Properties Window. Just choose Typical Group as the Style and the dialog box will change to the Typical Group Properties dialog box. |
Right away, you'll notice you the Typical Group Properties dialog box is similar to a normal Condition Properties dialog box but with fewer things to fill out. Basically, you're defining the name of your Typical Group, the layer on which it resides and its appearance (color and shape of the marker, see Typical Group Markers for more information).
You can use the Typical Group the way it is or your you can customize any of the fields.
NOTE: At the very least, you should give a descriptive name to the Typical Group - for example "Room Type 2, 10'00 Deck". Remember, like Typical Areas, Typical Groups are HEIGHT specific. |
