Sometimes, when you or Takeoff Boost creates an area object, there are too many perimeter segments (for example, when you're following a curve, but not using the Curved Area Tool), or other complex polygonal shapes. You may want to reduce the number of perimeter segments to "simplify" the takeoff object, On-Screen Takeoff makes it easy to do just that.

To simplify an area takeoff object,

Click the button on the Takeoff Tools toolbar
Select the object you want to simplify
Click the - the cursor changes to the takeoff cursor
Click the segment where you want to split (break) it, repeat for as many segments as you want
