It is time to activate DPC Mode. This action initiates a final exchange of information between On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid and pulls in the information needed for Digital Production Control such as Labor Production, Payroll Classes, Labor Cost Codes, and Budget information.

Note
Make sure you are using the "BUDGET" copy of your job and that it is set to Price Using: Quick Bid - Interactive mode. Make sure Quick Bid is licensed and running before clicking the "DPC" mode button.

  • Click on the Image Tab
  • Click the DPC button on the Image Tab, at the bottom of the Conditions window, you find the DPC button which activates DPC Mode in the Conditions window
  • Click YES when prompted to refresh the job (Quick Bid must be opened and licensed and the connected database must be opened).

This prepares the job for DPC using takeoff (On-Screen Takeoff) and estimate (Quick Bid) data. Depending on the size of the job, this could take several minutes.

Once the conversion to DPC Mode is complete, notice the Program Tabs change to Bid, Image, Budget, Timecard, Payroll Recap, Notes, and Project Express, the takeoff is grayed out, and a new Labor Cost Codes window replaces the Conditions Window on the Image Tab. This means you have successfully 'flipped the job" to DPC Mode.

Note
Once DPC Mode is activated, the Takeoff (On-Screen Takeoff) and Pricing (Quick Bid) are locked. To edit the Bid you must return the bid to Takeoff mode and Unlock the Bid. You can then make changes and reactivate DPC Mode. If you make any changes to the takeoff or pricing, a new DPC Package must be sent to the field, see Related articles for details and important restrictions.

When you "flip" a Bid into DPC Mode, the takeoff associated with Typical Groups and Repeating Pages is "exploded" into actual takeoff that can be percented in DPC Mode...
