Phases allow you to roll-up Bid Areas (see Related Articles) when exporting to certain Accounting programs. You can access the Bid Areas dialog box from within the Condition Detail.

Note
If a Condition is assigned to "Multiple" Bid Areas, you cannot configure Phases from the Condition Bid Area dialog box. Instead, you open Bid Areas from the Cover Sheet, and enter your Phase assignments there.

In the Bid Areas dialog box, you can assign a "Phase #" to one or multiple Bid Areas.

Quick Bid Bid Areas dialog box showing Phase Assignment

In our example, we've assigned Floor 1 - 3 to Phase 1, Floors 4 - 7 to Phase 2, and Floors 8 - 10 to Phase 3. You can also enter a Description for your Phases such as expected start/completion dates or any other information you feel necessary.

When you export your Bid to certain Accounting programs (In QB 4.96 and newer, the JobCost and Plexxis exports support "Phases"), the costs associated with Bid Areas are 'rolled up' and reported in "Phases". See Related articles for more information on Quick Bid exports.

Note

Phase information is only passed from the Base Bid to Change Orders created after making the changes. Any changes you make to Phases in the Base Bid or any Changes Orders, after you setup Phases on the Base Bid, are independent. The Base Bid and each Change Order can have its own Phase values.

If you setup/add Phases after you've created a Change Order, you must add the Phase information to each existing Change Order.
