Copying Bid(s)
It may become necessary to copy bids from one database to another (for example, when migrating from Microsoft Access to SQL or creating a new database for a new business year). Both databases must be visible on the Bids tab in order to copy or move bids.
NOTE: MOVING bids is NOT recommended - it is always recommended to COPY bids first, then go back and delete the original, after verification that the copied bid is acceptable. |
Click File > Open the Open Database dialog box opens. Select both databases to be used if you are copying to a different database, then click OK.
Expand the existing database to see the bids. Using the mouse, Drag and Drop the bid(s) from the originating database to the new database.
NOTE:
The shortcut commands <Ctrl> + <C> and <Ctrl> + <V> also work to copy the bid, as well as the Copy and Paste buttons on the toolbar.
|
To select multiple bids, press <Ctrl> or <Shift> on the keyboard and click on each bid to copy.
When the Copy Verification window appears, select Yes or Yes to all.
Once the copying begins, a Status window will appear showing the progress of the copying bid(s).
There is now a copy of the bid in the original (source) database and one if the new (destination) database (or two copies of the bid if the bid is pasted into the same database although Duplicating a Bid is easier).
