Database Wizard
First thing you'll need in order to start using On-Screen Takeoff is a database. A database is a file where all of your Projects are stored along with your Master Tables (employees, Styles, Style Sets). When you install the application, a database called Projects is installed by default. The first time you launch the application, this database will open. If this database doesn't open automatically, On-Screen Takeoff presents you with the Create Database Wizard.
- Click Create a database for me and On-Screen Takeoff will create a new Microsoft Access database with a unique name based on the current date and time - The database will be stored in the default database folder, C:\OCS
Documents\OST - Click Create your own database to create a database with a customized name and location
- Click Open a database you have already used to open the Open Database dialog box
Once a database is created or opened, you can start creating projects.
NOTE: See Section 7 - Databases for more information on what a database is, creating and opening databases and, how to backup your database. |
