Troubleshooting the Dongle Driver

  1. Verify your dongle is firmly plugged into a USB port

  2. Open On-Screen Takeoff

  3. Click File > Check Authorization

  4. In the License Authorization dialog, verify your Host ID is listed - if this number is an 8 to 11 digit number, go to step 15 below

  5. If this number is a long character string (ex. 000D000F000E etc.) or blank, the dongle driver is not properly installed or is not responding correctly

  6. Close On-Screen Takeoff and unplug your dongle from your PC

  7. Insert your On-Screen Takeoff CD

Additional Information: If you do not have the CD, the driver is available from our Web site www.oncenter.com/support

  8. Choose Install Software

  9. Select Additional Software and Drivers

  10. Select Sentinel Driver

  11. Follow the instructions for the driver installation - reboot your computer if prompted

  12. Once installation is complete and/or once the computer is rebooted, plug in your dongle - you should received a notification from Windows that new hardware is detected and being installed

  13. Open On-Screen Takeoff

  14. Click File > Check Authorization

  15. Your Host ID should now appear as an 8 to 11 digit number - if it does, click Reauthorize and your program should be authorized

NOTE: If your Host ID is not generating an 8 to 11 digit number, there is a problem with your computer, the operating system or dongle. Contact On Center Software Support.
