Importing Bids
You can import Bid Packages, Takeoff Project files, or iSqft assemblies. Importing a bid is one of the easiest ways to share information between two users. A Bid Package (OSP) can include image files while a Takeoff file (OST) only contains the bid information (takeoff, conditions) without the actual images.
Importing a Bid Package
Bid Packages can be imported from the File menu or opened from an e-mail.
- Click File > Import - the Import dialog displays
- Select Bid Package File (*.osp), and click OK - the Import Bid Package dialog displays
- Browse to the location of the OSP file, select the file, and click Open
- The file is imported and the bid is created
NOTE: If you have previously imported this same bid package, you will receive a notification that you are about to overwrite an existing Bid. You will be given the option to continue or cancel. If this bid already exists in this database, you can import it into another database.
You can import a project that was e-mailed to you by double-clicking the attachment. On-Screen Takeoff launches and the import process begins automatically (if you do not have a database open, you will need to create a database first).
Importing an On-Screen Takeoff File
- To import an On-Screen Takeoff Takeoff File click File > Import - the Import dialog appears
- Select the Takeoff file (*.ost, *osx, *.coe, *txt) radio button and click OK - the Open dialog appears
- Locate the file you want to import, click on it once to select it, and then click Open
- The Cover Sheet is displayed, make any changes necessary, and then click OK - the new Bid appears in the Bids list
