Problem
You try to install On-Screen Takeoff or Quick Bid but the installation simply fails. Often times, if you check your Temp folder (C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Temp\) you won't even find an installer log (installer logs start with "MSI" and have an "LOG" extension.
This happens even if you right-click on the installer and select "Run as Admin".
Discussion
All Classic products are installed as system-level program, to the Program Files (x86) directory. This means they require a local, system Admin to install them. Usually, if you are an admin on a computer, you'll have no problem installing the program (they automatically request an elevated "token" from Windows to complete the installation). However, your company or system admin may have applied additional restrictions, even to your admin profile, preventing installation of some components necessary for our product installation.
Resolution
You will need to enable and use the "hidden" Windows Admin profile to install the product.
On Center/ConstructConnect Technical Support cannot assist you with this, although these are the instructions Microsoft has posted:
Enabling the hidden administrator account will allow you to do anything without restrictions. We suggest disabling the feature after making changes to the PC. It is also best to create a password to protect it from an unauthorized access.
To enable the "hidden" Admin account:
- Open Run command box by simultaneously pressing Windows + R keys
- In the Run command box, type lusrmgr.msc
- Press Enter key to open Local Users and Groups window
- In the left-pane, click Users folder to see various account names in the middle pane
- Double-click on the Administrator entry in the middle pane to open its properties dialog
- Under the General tab, uncheck the option labeled Account is disabled
- Click the Apply button to enable the built-in admin account
- Close the Local Users and Groups window
The enabled Administrator account should be visible on the login screen.

You may need to work with your company's IT department or whoever setup your computer initially to enable this profile and resolve this issue.
