To print one or more pages in a project to Full-Size (full scale, Architectural size),

  • Click the Print button - the Print Preview window displays
  • Set the Range to whatever you want to print, see the previous articles for details on selecting what to print.

Note
On-Screen Takeoff caches all selected pages locally during the print preview process. If there is a large number of pages in a project or the plans are complex, this could take several minutes. (Caching is basically storing a temporary copy of something on the local hard drive so it can be transmitted to the printer.)

OST printing to Scale (Full Size)

  • Set the Size to "Full Size (100%)"
  • Click the Print button ALT TEXT - the Print Window displays
  • Make any necessary changes to the Printer Properties
  • Click Print or OK - the project begins printing - remember, this can take several minutes or longer depending on how many pages are in the project, how complex they are and the computer and network resources available.

Caution

Printing to scale (full size) requires significant system resources. A single page could use hundreds of MB of memory to print full size - if your PC or printer does not have sufficient resources, the print function may fail. Be sure that you are "Spooling" and not printing directly to the printer and that your machine exceeds the minimum System Requirements (see Related articles). Please contact your IT Department for assistance with Plotting full-scale images. If you continue to have problems printing to Scale, try printing only one page at a time.

If you print full-size and select a printer that does not support that full page size (not a plotter, for example) your plan will print to dozens of individual pages. For example, if you're printing an Arch E plan (36 x 48) to a standard 8.5 x 11 printer, it'll take about 24 sheets of paper (or PDF pages) to print full size.
