Resizing a piece of takeoff changes its measurement and Results.

Resizing Linear and Area Objects

To resize Linear and Area (including Area Backout) objects, select the object using the Select Tool

The Resize handles (small boxes) display at either end of a Linear object and at each corner of an Area object

Hover the cursor directly over the handle to bring up the Resize cursor, which looks like or depending on the orientation of the object

When the Resize cursor displays, click on the object handle and move the cursor either in or out, up or down, depending on object orientation to resize the object

    Note
When resizing an Area takeoff, moving and/or resizing a segment causes connected segments to adjust - this can cause unexpected changes to the shape of your Area takeoff object.

    Resizing Count and Attachment Objects

Count and Attachment takeoff objects cannot be individually resized in the Image Window because the objects are drawn as they are defined by the Condition Properties.

To resize a Count or Attachment object, the Condition Properties must be adjusted. For example, to resize a 30" wide door Attachment open the Condition Properties dialog and change the Dimension settings.

    Caution
    • Changing Condition Properties changes the size for all objects drawn with this Condition. If you want to change the size of a single Count or Attachment object, create a new Condition for the new size and reassign the original takeoff object to the new Condition. See Related articles for information about Reassigning Takeoff Objects to a Different Condition.
    • Attachments must fit on their parent object horizontally to be attached. See Related Articles for more details about how Attachments fit on their Parent objects.
