Annotations are graphical markups you draw on plans such as: Dimension Lines, Text, Highlight, Shapes (think Clouds, Boxes, Circle, Ink), along with Hot Links and Named Views.
The Annotation Tools are located on the Annotation toolbar - we cover how to use markup annotation (lines, arrows, highlighting, etc.) in the articles that follow. We cover Named Views and Hot Links in the Related Articles.
- Annotations are not "takeoff" and do not affect takeoff quantities (nor do they count when printing "pages with takeoff").
- Annotation is stored on the Annotation layer of your project and cannot be assigned to any other Layer.
- You can change the default Font/Color of Annotations in Tools > Options > Fonts/Colors, see Related Articles for more information on setting program options.
Let's start with Dimension Lines.
