Enterprise License Manager can be used to license users over a WAN/VPN, however, On Center Software does not assist with the setup, configuration, or maintenance of the license manager when used in this manner except to the extent that locally connected (LAN) users are able to access/license to the license manager. On Center Software does not warrant or guarantee the suitability of Enterprise License Manager for any particular environment.
Instructions for configuring Enterprise License Manager for use over WANs and the Internet are located in the LMAdmin Console Help file. Related articles for more information on LMAdmin's built-in Help.
Be sure to check the following if your users cannot authorize to Enterprise License Manager:
- Try specifying ports on the server and entering the full address to the server on the applications (see previous article)
- Check the network/VPN configuration for ANY and ALL firewalls. Firewalls are the #1 point of failure when attempting to authorize using Enterprise License Manager locally and over WANs and the Internet. Please contact the vendor of your Firewall software if you are having difficulty configuring it to allow Enterprise License Manager through.
WAN/Internet authorization is not supported by On Center Software Technical Support nor guaranteed to work. Your company may need to purchase Enterprise License Manager for each regional office and allocate some licenses to each server.
