Question

Can you run On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, and Digital Production Control on Windows 10?

What about Windows 11?

What about Windows 365 (Cloud)?

Discussion

Windows 10, Yes.

Windows 11, OST 3.98.06.19, is fully compatible with Windows 11. Quick Bid 4.99.05 has not been tested/certified, yet, but there is no technical reason for it not to work.

Windows 365, probably, but they have not been tested/certified, yet. There's no technical reason for it not to work, but because we haven't tested it, we can't inform you on where to store your databases and images. Test before you do any "real work" in this environment so you don't lose valuable work.

See each product's current system requirements, in Related Articles before you install anything.

See our End of Life/Sunsetting Policy under Related Articles for important information on which versions of On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, and Digital Production Control have been sunset.

Caution - Upgrading Windows Version

There are a few important things we feel it is prudent to share with you:

  • Upgrading an operating system should be done only with your IT department's guidance. If you do not have an IT department, please contact Technical Support before installing an operating system upgrade (Windows 7 to 8, 8 to 10, 8 or 10 to 11, etc.) so we can help you plan the upgrade to ensure your On Center software is compatible with Windows 10 and will function post-upgrade. Technical Support cannot assist you with the actual upgrade of your operating system, but we can advise you how to prepare our products for best results.
  • We recommend that you deactivate and uninstall On-Screen Takeoff/Digital Production Control and Quick Bid before upgrading your operating system. If the software is installed when the upgrade happens, it may become unusable after the upgrade and you will not be able to uninstall/repair it. Also, please remember, only versions that are tested and approved for installation on Windows 10 are expected to work properly on that operating system.
  • After the Windows version upgrade is complete, sign in to the MyAccount Customer Portal where you can download and install the new versions of OST/QB (assuming you are due a version compatible with the new operating system).
  • Before installing any version of On-Screen Takeoff or Quick Bid, ensure your license supports the new version.

Windows 10

Windows 10 Pro is certified supported for current versions of On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.

See Related Articles for System Requirements and Windows version compatibility information.

Many versions of On-Screen Takeoff/Digital Production Control and Quick Bid that were supported on older versions of Windows are no longer supported nor can they be licensed. You must be using a supported version of the product to run it on Windows 10.

If you need to renew your maintenance, please contact our Customer Success Team at 866-627-6246 for assistance.

Windows 11

We have completed certification testing for the current version of On-Screen Takeoff. Older versions (prior to 3.98.07.xx) have not been tested and are not supported.

We have not completed certification testing for running Quick Bid on Windows 11. Please check back regularly for updates. Although we are unable to certify Windows 11 (or SQL 2019) for Quick Bid, there's no technical reason for the application to not work with these Microsoft products/versions.

Windows 365 (Azure Cloud Desktop)

Windows 365 is a cloud-based virtual desktop that can run a number of versions of Windows, including Windows 10, which is technically supported. That being said...we have not performed certification testing for Windows 365, so test before committing to anything.

Product documentation (user guides) describes functionality in the latest version of each major release and may not match the functionality in the version you are using. Please check the Product Information and Downloads pages by clicking one of the product buttons above.
