A Quick Bid Login dialog is displayed when the database you are trying to access requires a login. You will need to enter your login name and password to gain access to the database. Requiring employees to login helps protect your database from unauthorized use and since you can assign specific Access Levels, you can limit what logged in employees can do.
When logging in, you can check the Remember Login name and password check box. Your login name and password will then be saved and they will appear each time you open this database. You will only have to click to continue.
First, your database must have at least one estimator with login rights. See Estimators for assistance with setting up estimators and logins.
Next, open Database Properties, right click on the database in Bids Navigator, or click on Properties in the Open Databases dialog box.
Click on the check box for Logins Required.
You will need to enter in the user name and password for the database Administrator to adjust this setting.
The database will close, then re-open at the login screen.
Quick Bid database logins are separate from any network or SQL logins required to access the database.
Now that you are using logins, you'll probably be sharing your database(s) among multiple users. Please see Sharing Databases for more information.
When you are using logins, specific rights can be assigned to each estimator. You will need to setup each estimator and assign rights.
