The information you see on the Image Tab is arranged with different information residing on different Layers. Think of a layer as an imaginary piece of tracing paper that can be shown or hidden as needed. Objects on a layer are not affected by showing or hiding a layer - only whether they are currently displayed or not is changed.
The Image, Annotation, and Default layers, highlighted in blue in the Layers dialog box, are permanent System Layers and cannot be edited or deleted although they can be unchecked (hidden).
You can add a Bid Layer to the current Bid that is only used in this Bid, see the next article Using Layers for information on adding a layer to a Bid. You also can setup Default Layers that are automatically added to all new Bids.
Objects assigned to hidden Layers are not included when printing the Image window. Only visible objects are printed which makes it easy for you to print just what you need...
