On-Screen Takeoff supports the display of color DWF, DWG, PDFs, and other image file types in full color.  By default however the Enable Color option is off to decrease the amount of time and system resources required to display images (makes the program run faster).  When the "Enable Color DWF, DWG PDF's" option is selected (Tools > Options > General tab), all color image files are displayed in color and ALL files (color and B&W) are rendered in 8-bit image color format, dramatically improving quality as well as showing color.  The images may take slightly longer to display.

To improve image loading tmes, users can convert COLOR PDFs to COLOR TIFF images after they are loaded.  PDFs converted to TIFF when they are displayed in lower (black & white) resolution are converted to a lower resolution TIFF.  To create a higher resolution/quality TIFF, re-load the original PDFs IN COLOR MODE and then convert to TIFF.

The setting for Enable Color DWF, DWG and PDF's is located under Tools > Options, on the General tab.

If files were previously converted to TIFF while they were displayed in greyscale, it is possible to re-load the original files in a NEW Bid, 'Enable Color', then convert the color files to Colored TIFFs.   Then, simply copy and paste the converted (color) TIFFs to the appropriate directory/folder where the original Bid is already linked (the image file folder).
