10.05.03 verifying the scale of an image

Once scale is set, it is necessary to double-check it to make sure it is correct.  Be sure to verify the scale horizontally AND vertically - some image are not scaled the same on both axes - these pages will not work well in On-Screen Takeoff.

• Locate and zoom into a known dimension line on the page

• Select the Dimension tool from the Annotation toolbar

• Measure the known linear using the Dimension Tool (zoom in to be precise)

The dimension line drawn should be the same as on the plan - if not, use the Calculate Scale process to allow On-Screen Takeoff to determine the correct scale.
