Applying a Drop/Run to Linear Takeoff
A Drop/Run accounts for additional material needed when taking off plumbing fixtures and/or electrical items. The drop/run accounts for the vertical run necessary to reach the intended outlet, sink, fixture.
NOTE: You must enter a drop run value BEFORE performing takeoff if you want this value added to your linear segments. Entering a value AFTER performing takeoff does not update existing takeoff objects. |
Applying a Manual Drop/Run Value to a Linear Object
- To apply a Drop/Run setting manually, open the Conditions Properties dialog and select the Advanced tab
- Place a check in the box next to Drop/Run in the Measurement field, but do not put a value in the Add Length field
- When taking off objects with the Drop/Run box checked and no value set, a small box will appear next to every segment of that Condition
- You can then select a particular box and input any value for each segment
Applying a Default Drop/Run Value to a Linear Object
You can set your linear condition to automatically apply a Drop/Run to every segment. When adding a default drop/run setting to a Condition, every segment of takeoff you perform with that Condition will have the Drop/Run value added to it (you
To apply a Default Drop/Run setting, open the Conditions Properties dialog and select the Advanced tab.
Place a check in the box next to Drop/Run in the Measurement field.
Add the desired drop/run length in the Add Length box.
Now, when you draw any segment, a drop/run value of 1'6" is added.
NOTE: Even though this default value is entered into the Drop/Run box by default, you can always go back to the box and enter in a different value (or none) to make adjustments. |
