This document is intended for users experiencing problems with a GTCO digitizer and On-Screen Takeoff®
On-Screen Takeoff Not Responding
Sometimes On-Screen Takeoff may not respond when trying to set your takeoff area or you may have problems drawing takeoff with the digitizer pen.
-
Shut down the computer
-
Unplug the power of the digitizer for 30 seconds
-
Plug the digitizer back in
-
On the row of letters and numbers on the edge of the digitizer, press the letter S followed by the numbers 0, 1 with the pen (S, 0, 1)
-
You should then hear the digitizer beep four times
-
Now start the computer
-
Do not open On-Screen Takeoff. Instead, move the pen around the tablet. You should see the mouse pointer move on the screen as you move the pen
-
if the direction of movement is incorrect (you are moving the pen to the left, but the cursor moves to the right), click the Orientation button on the digitizer
-
-
Now open On-Screen Takeoff and set the takeoff area
If your digitizer is not responding after resetting it, there may be a hardware issue.
-
Uninstall the digitizer driver (either TabletWorks or Virtual Tablet Interface) and reinstall.
-
If you are running version 3.3 or newer of On-Screen Takeoff, you can download the latest TabletWorks driver from http://www.gtco.com/supportdigitizing.htm
-
-
If you are running an older version of On-Screen Takeoff, please check your installation CD or contact our Support department for assistance. TableWorks 10+ will not work with older versions of On-Screen Takeoff.
-
If reinstalling the driver does not work, you should contact GTCO support at the web site above. They will be able to diagnose your hardware to determine if that is the problem.

Trouble Performing Takeoff
If you are experiencing an issue starting takeoff or closing takeoff, you may be using plans with metal based ink. The preferred type of plans to use are ones with dye based ink, as these do not conflict with the stylus.
If you experience problems with your wireless stylus, ensure that there are no sources of RF (Radio) interference nearby - this includes fluorescent overhead lights, wireless phones/cell phones or other office equipment.
