Features

  • You can now open a 3rd Image Window (branded the "View Window") - this is a view only Window, you cannot draw Annotations or set scale. We added a "V" button to the Image Tab's View Toolbar.
  • We rebranded the "2nd View" Window as the "Annotation and View Window" and updated the button to activate it on the Image Tab's View Toolbar from a "2" to an "A" (same keyboard shortcut, <Ctrl>+<2>).
  • You can now Add/Modify Named Views in the Annotation and View Window.
  • You can now Add/Modify Hot Links in the Annotation and View Window.
  • You can now Set/Change Scale in the Annotation and View Window.
  • You can set an Option to open Hot Links in the Main window, the Annotation and View window, or the new View Window.

Changes

  • Continuous improvements to the AutoNaming backend and incorporating user corrections/feedback into the system to improve suggestions.
  • Users are prompted to Opt into Analytics (Non-California, U.S. Residents only, all others are opted-out) to help ConstructConnect development and improve meaning features and functionality based on usage.
    • Non-U.S. residents and residents of California are opted out automatically until we can provide a method for purging customer data upon request.
  • Remove Registration screen and all Personally Identifiable Information in compliance with the GDPR and California CPA.
  • As part of the implementation of the improved Annotation & View Window, it is necessary for OST to close any secondary windows when leaving the Image Tab. Their state and position are retained and they will re-open when you return to the Image Tab.

Fixes

    Reported by Customers

    • [ON-3879] - Case 02038620 (and others) - Pages with a large number of takeoff objects (>4000) take significantly longer to load in 3.97.xx and 3.98.xx than previous versions of OST.
    • After duplicating a Condition, if the name is still in edit mode and you draw takeoff, the cursor did not follow intended movements.

    Identified During Routine Testing

    • [ON-3943] - The Preview pane in the OST Bid Package Custom Page selector is not working.
    • ON-4336 - Cut/Pasting Annotation in the Image Window is not reflected in the A-V Window until the Page is reloaded. (Copy/Pasting works fine, then cycle back and delete the original.)

    Known Issues

If you are upgrading, if your On-Screen Takeoff window is maximized before you upgrade to 3.98.05.57, you may not see the new "V" button on the View Toolbar on the Image Tab. If it doesn't show up, there's an easy fix for this: in OST, click Tools > Options and click "Reset all Settings". You will need to reconfigure your Options, but this will force the toolbars to rebuild properly.

When we added the ability for users to create Named Views and adjusting Scale in the Annotation and View Window (A-V Window, formerly known as the 2nd/View Window), we identified a few things we feel you should be aware of, noted below. If there is an "ON-xxxx" after the item, we are investigating whether this needs to be fixed in a future release.

    • When you create a Named View in the A-V Window, sometimes, depending on your position on the Page and the Zoom, when you draw the Named View, the Current View in the A-V Window may "jump". If this happens and you cannot see the Named View you just drew, press <ESC> on your keyboard to delete the unsaved Named View, zoom out a bit and try again, or draw the Named View in the main Image Window.
    • If you attempt to change the Scale of a Page (in the new A-V Window) to something that would cause an issue with takeoff (in the main Image Window), the warning is shown in the main window, not in the A-V Window. (ON-4339)
    • Applying a Scale change made in the A-V Window to "All Pages" may cause OST to show an error that the Scale cannot be changed but changes the Scale anyway. We caution you to avoid using the "Apply to all pages" when setting Scale as a general rule. (ON-4338)
    • When drawing a Named Views in both the Image Window and the A-V Window, if you "Save" the Named View by clicking away from it, rather than hitting <ENTER>, eventually, OST may no longer show a Named View created in the A-V Window in the Image Window or vice versa. If this happens, just close OST to clear memory. (ON-4337)
    • Copy/Pasting and Cut/Pasting Annotation in either the Image Window or the A-V Window is not reflected in the View Window (ON-4225) until the Page is reloaded in the View Window.
    • Cutting and Pasting HIGHLIGHT Annotation in the A-V Window does not save the Annotation (ON-4333). Do not use Cut/Paste (Copy/Pasting works fine, then cycle back and delete the original).
    • <ENTER> button does not work correctly when creating Text Annotation in the A-V Window (this goes back a few versions) (ON-4226).
    • Rotating a linear takeoff object that is set to "3-point curve" causes it to recalculate with slightly different results. This will be fixed in the next version of OST 3.98.
    • The Image Folder button on the Cover Sheet sometimes disappears when user hovers over the field, making it difficult or impossible to click on the button. (Bug# ON-4556)
    • If you CUT and paste takeoff from one Page to another, the blue "takeoff" indicator does not get updated in the Page Navigator until you leave the Image Tab and return (Case 02230614) ON-4728
    • Area Backouts within a Zone are shown as "unassigned" negative values on the Takeoff Tab (Case # 02171995) ON-4441
    • ON-4424 - when you select an Overlay, the preview in the Overlay Orientation window is blank
    • ON-5328 - the View (3rd) Window closes when you close the Auto Count preview window
