9.02.00 Creating Bids

Creating Bids video

To create a new Bid,

• Click File > New > Bid, 
• Click the New icon drop down and select Bid
• Right-click anywhere in the Bids list or in the Bid Navigator and Select New > Bid, or
• If you're already on the Bids Tab, just press the <Insert> key

The Cover Sheet opens,

• Type the name of the Bid in the Project Name field (this is the only required field) (if you have setup your database and options already, the appropriate Bidding Company will already be filled in...this settings are control under Tools > Options > New Bid along with several other Bid options set on the Cover Sheet).  Job Status defaults to the FIRST Job Status in the Master list.

• Click OK

The new Bid is created (visible on the Bid Navigator and Bids Tab) and the Conditions Tab is automatically activated.

• For a new Bid, the only required field on the Cover Sheet is Project Name.  Other fields that affect calculation and allow an Estimator to organize and manage Bids efficiently are available - review the following articles for more information/details.
